About Us

Welcome to Canyon Ridge Garden!

We sit atop a ridge across from the Owyhee Mountains and the Snake River in southwest Idaho's Treasure Valley, characterized by its short, cold winters and dry, hot summers. My cowboy husband and I acquired this land to build our ranch, complete with a few animals, of course, and my flower gardens.

Hello, I'm Inka. My parents named me Vinca after a flower in the front yard of their first home. Where I was born, gardening is in my blood.  Mom and especially Grandma had a "magic hand." They cultivated herbs, fruits, and vegetables in our small village. When my parents had their first home, my mom began to expand the variety of flowers in the yard. There were a lot of Vincas in the front yard.

My garden is my spiritual sanctuary, where I can think and find peace.  I care for my garden with love. I often converse with the Maker, my God, who allows me to care for the garden while I tend to do my gardening chores. People say I have a beautiful garden, but I do know there is an eternal garden that I look forward to someday being in. When I see my garden, I can rely on Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, which illustrates this best, "For everything, there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck…a time to weep, and a time to laugh, etc. I also know that I can't do everything: designing, generating ideas, and bringing everything together in reality are beyond my strength. The Lord gives everything from the very beginning, and I only obey His guidance." If I could put a sign in my garden, it would be Philippians 4:13. I don't know how long God allowed me to have this garden, but I do know that I trust Him every day and am grateful as much as I can.

When you visit my garden, you become part of its beauty. You can feel the blessings that it holds, and you become part of the cycle of life that it represents.

Cheers,
